Diggers Tavern Hotel

From the outside it looks dead, but inside it’s such a beautiful little gem. Fresh, clean and spacious, and the food was next level. Our party of 10 all found something they loved. Even with the place buzzing, the meals came quickly and were fresh and tasty. It was cool inside despite the summer heat. Definitely coming back next time we’re in Bello.

The food and service were absolutely disgusting. I asked for mash and veg but got chips and veg. When I sent it back, they just wiped off the chips and slapped mash on. The peas weren’t properly cooked and the mash was really lumpy. A steak was missing too. When it finally came, they said a bunch of chefs had to leave, which was absolute BS. The mushroom sauce was missing as well. They said they’d run out and gave us a bottle of tomorrow sauce. I’ll never return on my travels.

We never even got to stay. At 11pm they tried to charge my card, it was declined, and instead of contacting me they cancelled the whole booking the day before, during the busiest time of year. They didn’t respond to my message either, leaving a family stranded. Luckily we found much better and cheaper accommodation.

The family rooms at the Diggers were clean and spacious, and the beds were comfortable. The staff were all friendly and happy to answer our questions. We had an amazing stay, and the bistro meals were 10/10. We’ll make this a regular stop when travelling to QLD.
