Charlie always greets you warmly and makes it seem like nothing is too much trouble. I appreciated the little touches too, like real milk for guests instead of those awful tiny UHT containers. As a very senior, read old, man with a big cruiser motorbike and sometimes a trailer, I'm used to reception staff giving me sideways looks when I ride up. Charlie just gave me a huge, welcoming grin. Thanks, Charlie. The staff clearly take pride in keeping the rooms and grounds clean and presentable. The Welcome Stranger Motel will be my first choice for an overnight stop when I'm next in the Bendigo area.

Karen and Charlie look after this large motel, and they're great people. The pool and air conditioning both work a treat. Rooms are great, beds are comfy, and it's a quiet place to stay. I'll definitely be back next time I'm in Bendigo.

The deluxe queen room was spacious and very good overall. It was clean and quiet, and honestly as good as some five star hotels I've stayed in. Well done.

The staff were so welcoming, and it was nice and quiet. I stayed for a week, and the room was pleasant and really warm through winter. I'd recommend the place to anyone.

The staff were kind and cheerful, and the newly renovated rooms were beautiful. Amazingly clean, too.
