High Mountains Motor Inn

There are lots of thoughtful, simple touches here: the bed gets made once a day, extra things are available when you need them, and there’s an EV charging station, BBQ area, Foxtel at no extra cost, and great wifi. It’s simple accommodation done really well, with a lovely homely feel. I can see why it gets such great reviews. We’ll be back. :-)

The room was compact, but thoughtfully laid out and had plenty of useful things in it. It was quieter with the room set back from the road. Breakfast was advertised but wasn't available; there are several cafes an easy walk away, and the kettle, toaster, microwave and mini fridge made it easy to sort out our own.

The room stayed lovely and warm through the nights, which mattered a lot to me since cold weather really gets to me. The bathroom, especially the toilet, was notably clean. There was enough room, though opening several large suitcases at once would make it hard to move around. It's a little way from the town centre and train station, but still walkable, and that distance helps keep the place more affordable.

Just a five-minute walk into town, with friendly staff and a room that was cleaner and tidier than I expected. The bed was comfy, and it had AC, a microwave, fridge and modern bathroom. I was glad of the electric blanket when the mountain nights got chilly. The main road stays busy, though, so there was constant traffic noise. I'm a light sleeper and should've brought earplugs.
