We needed somewhere safe during the cyclone, and I was refused a booking because I have an assistance animal. Karen said she had to speak to someone, then hung up on me. When I called back, she said someone on the committee had refused the booking. I was also quoted a price above what it should have been. They told me they don’t accept support animals without documentation. I believe this was direct illegal discrimination against me as a person with a disability, and I’ll be taking it to the Human Rights Commission. I’m absolutely disgusted. I was hung up on three times. Karen seems to think the laws don’t apply to their establishment and that discrimination is okay.

The view was great, and the apartments were spacious in a beautiful location. The reception service was rude and unpleasant, though, and that alone means I wouldn’t stay again. The place could also be cleaner.

The restaurant was amazing, and I would go back to eat there. Our stay was a different story. Four of us over 50 booked, and we hadn’t even been there two hours before we were told to turn the music down, though it wasn’t loud at all. We were also accused of smoking, even though three of us are non-smokers. An elderly resident had complained. There was no privacy: staff would knock and then open the door before we had time to answer. We felt uneasy all weekend and won’t be back.

We stayed in room 15 and would stay again. The room was clean, the view was beautiful, and the beaches were an easy walk away. Parking was gated and secure, and complimentary luggage trolleys were available. The Wi-Fi was excellent when I needed to log in for work. Some of the decor and kitchen utensils are a bit dated and could use replacing. The lady at reception was lovely and polite.

We come here regularly as a family, and there’s plenty of space for all three of our teenage children to relax on their own. The apartments are beautiful and large, the views are unmatched, and the price is reasonable. The Cove restaurant is downstairs and is a family favourite, as well as being very conveniently located.
