There’s a separate lounge and dining area with a kitchenette at the front, while the air-conditioned bedroom and ensuite are at the back. The rooms are dated, but roomy, and the place looks out over the water and jetty. Main Street is about 100 metres away, with heaps of places to eat.

Jenny and the staff made us feel very welcome. The room was neat and clean, and the shops are close by. The bed was comfortable, though I’m used to sleeping in a king. A lovely place to stay.

I was refused a room because I have tattoos and ride a Harley Davidson. One woman told me they had rooms, but another judged me and told me to go stay at the pub. I don’t drink, and I own my own business. She was extremely rude. I’d suggest the Castle Motel instead. It’s clean and quiet, and they don’t judge you.

We’ve stayed here four times overnight in the last six weeks while travelling from Atherton Tablelands to Rockhampton. The sea view unit had a lounge, dining area, bedroom and bathroom, with magnificent views and a great position. Staff were professional and personal, and the service and support went well beyond what we’d normally expect. My wife and I have stayed at many motels over the years, and this is among the best. It’s on our list for future trips. I’d give it a 7 if I could.

The ocean view room was clean and roomy, and all the staff were genuinely friendly. A wonderful place to stay. We’ll be back.
