Abbey on Roma Hotel & Apartments

The extra bed we were charged for, despite booking two singles, looked like it belonged in a homeless shelter. The rooms were filthy, there was construction noise all night, and there was absolutely no service. It's convenient, but there are plenty of equally handy places where you don't have to put up with this. Terrible and not worth the money. I'll never stay again. Do yourself a favour and find somewhere else.

I've been coming here on and off for about two years and haven't had a single issue. The rooms have literally everything you need, and the staff are helpful and very well mannered. People mind their own business. I love staying here.

Being right beside the train station was the only good thing. The room reeked, with blood on the curtains, dirty pillows, and vents full of mould and fluff. Stains on the couch and walls, no real shower pressure, and barely warm water. It was old, outdated and disgusting. On top of that, I wasn't given the room shown in the listing. The pictures were completely different from where I stayed. Go literally anywhere else.

For a weekend in Brisbane, this was exactly what we needed: a budget-friendly place that was neat, tidy and well stocked. Abbey on Roma isn't a posh hotel, and neither the rooms nor the building were fancy, but the location was unbeatable. We could easily walk to the city centre, and there were plenty of lime scooters nearby if we wanted one. Reception were helpful in person, let us store our luggage after checkout, and made it easy to extend our stay.
