Alcyone Hotel Residences

We were so glad we switched to this hotel after friends recommended it. It felt completely like a home away from home, and we really enjoyed our short stay. A great stopover whether you’re leaving by boat or plane, and we wouldn’t hesitate to return.

We’d stay here again. The hotel was very clean, and the staff were friendly. Our room was laid out perfectly, with a full kitchen and washer/dryer. It’s right by the river in a very nice neighborhood, with lots of places to eat and a grocery store just a few feet from the hotel. I’d highly recommend it.

We checked in, saw the room, and checked straight back out. The bathrooms were filthy, with brown sticky marks on the floors and brown gunk in the central drain, a mix of dust, grime and lint. The shower screens were covered in white soap scum, and the frames were corroded with what looked like rust and lime. The living room furniture was badly stained, and the balcony furniture was greasy and dirty. When we checked out, they asked us to photograph the bathroom problems and send them to the manager. They should be doing that job themselves. After leaving Alcyone, we checked into W. Wow, what a hotel, simply superb.

We really enjoyed our stay, and it’s a great hotel in a great location. The one downside was traffic noise from the main road side of the building. We were there on a busy Saturday night, and it stayed quite noisy until late evening. I don’t think it would be as much of an issue on a weeknight.
