We were in town for Ed Sheeran and paid an astronomical price for one night in a basic room. I know every hotel does this, but it was still a lot. The room itself was good, clean, and had good facilities. The bed was surprisingly comfortable, and the blackout curtains really did block out the light. It is a little dated, though very clean. The man at reception was polite and informative. Thank you, summit apartments.

The only real positive was the location near roma st parklands, just a five-minute walk to the concert. We booked three rooms last year, and I called a few days before arrival to ask for them to be together. I was told they’d all be on level 7, but when we got there, the rooms were on levels 3 and 8. One room also had broken air conditioning, which they told us about only two hours before arrival. They offered a lower rate, and after negotiating we got free breakfast. With 90% humidity, it was very uncomfortable, especially since we had to leave the balcony doors open and smoke from next door stank up the room. Both families were very disappointed with the whole experience.

We told reception about the problems when checking out, after staff asked how the stay had been. We were met with only “sorry,” with no further acknowledgement or offer to resolve anything. That’s very poor service for a place meant to be a “Hotel.” We’d arrived for a one-night stay and late check-in, and the first thing we noticed was a strong rubbish smell throughout the 4th floor hallway, apparently coming from the garbage room there. The room also smelled strongly of old, damp carpet. The curtains had large brown and black marks and looked unwashed. Cutlery in the kitchenette’s top drawer still had dried milk on the knives, which is unacceptable for cleanliness and hygiene. The ducted air conditioning barely worked. There was a standalone fan in front of the bed, but it barely helped for a room that size. A very disappointing stay.

The rooms felt clean and welcoming, almost like home, and the staff were so helpful and friendly, with service second to none. I’d happily stay here again if I’m in Brisbane. Highly recommend. A huge thank you. I’d give 10 stars if I could.

A friend’s scooter was stolen from the supposedly secure car park. Staff first said there were no cameras, then that they didn’t work, and finally that the cameras belonged to another company. They offered no help or accountability. The price just isn’t justified by poor maintenance, unsafe parking and terrible service. Avoid staying here. Our stay at The Summit Apartments was awful. The bedroom lights didn’t work, and the shower blocked on the first day, flooding the bathroom after 30 seconds. There was no exhaust fan. The furniture and carpets were stained, and the whole place felt old and unclean.
