Hotel Chino

Service was good, the balcony was a nice size, and the underground parking and showers were good. But the bed was awful, like an old spring base with a very thin mattress. I didn't think beds could still be this uncomfortable, so we went out and bought a topper. The room photos also make it seem much bigger than it is. We paid around $700 for three nights, then found out after going up to the room that there was no room service, so no fresh sheets or towels. To get the deposit back, we also had to take all the rubbish downstairs. With better mattresses, larger TVs, and room service, this could be a nice place to stay.

The location was perfect, the off-street parking a real bonus, and the rooms were neat and clean. Check-in was fantastic. Sleep wasn't great because the mattress was quite thin and had no comforter, though it was manageable. Add a comforter to the mattress and I'd have given it five stars.

I needed somewhere quickly and they served me well. They took me at my word and I paid on arrival. I was looking for four to six weeks of accommodation, but had no way to plan ahead in my situation. Not an easy time of year to make a last-minute choice. The building looks clean and modern, though worn furniture in the lobby was the first thing I noticed. I asked if the interior would be next while they were doing exterior painting and maintenance. The answer was no, as if nothing needed fixing. It felt like a missed opportunity. My room was tiny, but I was alone. There was no coffee or tea, and I would have bought some if I'd known. I had to buy a toothbrush anyway, since I expected to return home. I looked at a larger unit, but the halls weren't well ventilated and the smell changed as I went along. Coming back one evening, I saw people talking in the parking area. They may have been harmless, but my instinct was to keep moving, and I was glad to get through the front door. This is four-star accommodation that I think could live up to that, though I noticed spots in my room that hadn't been cleaned. The manager was meant to look into options for where we could go, but nobody got back to me. I found somewhere else, cleaner, in a great location, cheaper, smelling lovely on entry, and with very personable staff. I might stay here again with my eyes open and a bit more wisdom, but only if I couldn't find anything else.

I was getting stressed trying to find decent, friendly accommodation, then came across hotel chino. Wow, I was only there for a night, but the service went above and beyond. Thank you for the kindness and service, 10/10.
