Moorooka Motel

They charged me $15 per towel for plain white towels with a bit of makeup on them. I’m guessing they don’t wash towels. Makeup, even hair dye, comes out in the wash. I’ve left hair dye on hotel pillows before and never been charged to replace anything. Ridiculous.

The rooms were very clean, and $160 for the night seemed reasonable. Traffic was the only downside I could find. I also noticed there weren’t any extra pillows or a blanket in the room.

The owners were very friendly and helpful, and the price was really cheap. We had a huge room and a great hot shower. Traffic gets full on during peak hour, but after that I never heard it.

The noise made it hard to sleep, relax, or keep a good attitude. Someone seemed to be screaming abuse and dragging furniture or other things around at 3 or 4am, and it happened regularly during my week-long stay. I saw another review mention the same thing last year. Staff either don’t know about it, which I find hard to believe, or turn a blind eye. The main road is ridiculously busy and loud all day and night, with semis and a motorbike yard starting up at 7am every morning. It’s in an industrial area, too. There was also a ute parked in full view of the main road with its bonnet up, looking pretty classy. If you can’t handle constant noise, I’d avoid this place.
