Sunnybank Hotel

We had dinner here and the staff greeted us with smiles. They were friendly and quick. We ordered a steak meal, two kids' nugget and fries meals, crab and prawn risotto, a large serving of chicken wings, two kids' ice creams, and two brownies with coffees. The risotto was the best in the business, and the wings were yum. This is why we come back whenever we feel like treating ourselves. Thanks for the great service every time.

The staff were great, helpful and quick to clean, so credit to them. Still, my room was one of the more unpleasant places I've stayed. Both beds seemed to sink or collapse on one side, making proper sleep unrealistic. The shower curtain rail crumbled as soon as it was touched. It was old and rusty, and fell apart several times before we got it to stay together. The TV would randomly shut off and need a restart. I don't know if it had a timer or something. There was a small seating area by the back doors, but bugs had built up on the doors of about half the rooms, so you wouldn't want to sit there. It might be a summer issue, as that's when I stayed. The high, awkwardly placed AC didn't get good airflow into some room corners. Reception was oddly hard to find, and we were sent back and forth between employees before ending up with the person we'd started with. The accommodation building felt like it might fall over in a strong breeze, and I don't know that there's much to be done about that. Just know what you're getting into. To be fair, these were issues I saw in my room only. I didn't see the others, so I can't say if they had the same problems.

Service was spot on the whole time at Sunnybank Hotel. Shearia was fantastic, so friendly, and made sure our food came out just right. Aidab behind the bar was welcoming too and mixed a mean drink. Awesome experience, couldn't have asked for better service. We'll be back!

From the welcome when we arrived to the great food and cosy accommodation, we've had the best experience here. Zac at the bar really stands out and knows how to look after his patrons. Keep it up, guys. We're looking forward to coming back again and again :)
