W Brisbane

Our level 33 room was spacious, clean and comfortable, with a modern, funky feel, a walk-in shower and a bath. The views from the building’s restaurants were great too. The Lex made for a lovely NYE, with a bottle of Ruinart champagne (blanc de blanc) and a more romantic feel on the balcony overlooking Southbank and the river. It’s right in the heart of the city, handy for Queen Street Mall, public transport and the walkways around Brisbane. The staff were friendly and service on arrival was great. Amazing views and a really convenient place to stay. Highly recommend.

The spa was a highlight. We were glad we managed to fit in an hour during our short visit. It felt luxurious, and we left relaxed and refreshed. The spa manager was lovely and made everything feel easy and seamless. We booked a river view king room at the last minute after our Brisbane trip unexpectedly ran longer. The room and hotel were both lovely, and the staff came across as thoughtful, well trained and helpful. Dave kindly showed us around and called the little room details ‘quirks’. They felt like carefully considered design choices that made things easier and set the W apart from other five-star hotels. We’d come back and recommend it to friends and family for a magical stay.

Manu, the female manager working the afternoon shift at check-in on 28/02/2026, and the duty manager the next day, who I think was called Bill, were great. The staff were great overall, and our stay was very enjoyable. A couple of things stood out: housekeeping and minibar staff use the same lifts as guests, which I’ve rarely seen at a five-star property. Also, our US$100 Fines Hotels and Resorts Amex credit was converted to Australian dollars at a very low rate, close to a 10% reduction, I’d say. Both concerns relate to management. Thank you. Sam

We still have such fond memories of this place. For our September staycation after eloping in the city, the team surprised us with balloons, chocolate and champagne in the room, and upgraded us for free. It was thoughtful and completely unexpected. Everyone was kind and polite, and we loved the Wet Deck, the spa facilities and the buffet breakfast. The hotel’s decor is adventurous, with unique artistic choices. It’s the best hotel I’ve stayed at, including places in other countries. I tell everyone about it.
