Oaks Broome Hotel

The evening receptionist, a gentleman working the 2/3 shift, gave us a warm, professional welcome. The woman at the dining room desk serving dinner was lovely too. Sorry I didn't get either of their names.

The location was handy for Town Beach, the WW memorial, and the Broome museum, but the property could use some attention. The breakfast selection was limited to white bread, and the bathroom in our room was missing its stainless steel plug. I worried something might fall down the opening. I also noticed several of the black non-slip mats around the complex were lifting and could trip someone. At the pool, some of the outer edging had come apart, so I put it back together myself for safety. Why hadn't the staff fixed it? The meal seating was uncomfortable too, with hard, flat backs. Cushions would help.

We spent five nights here and would definitely return. The place is a little away from the main town, which suited us because it was really quiet at night, and the Town Beach area is pleasant. The food was excellent, though a couple of times it arrived not quite hot enough. The staff were amazing and really made our holiday. I'd give it four and a half stars out of five, and I tip my hat to the team.

The front desk service was superb. Everyone was courteous and paid attention to what a traveller might need. Kasun deserves a special mention, he was extremely helpful and checked in on our needs whenever we saw him. The restaurant staff also made sure we were happy and had what we needed. The location is ideal too.
