Nightcap at Kawana Waters Hotel

The bar staff were so helpful when we arrived later than planned, and they remembered us and our drink orders each afternoon. We stayed two nights at the Kawana Waters Hotel (Nightcap) for a golf trip, choosing it because it was central to the three courses we played. It turned out to be a pleasant surprise and a great place to come back to for dinner and a few well-earned drinks. We never had to wait for a dinner table, the food came out quickly, and my steak was cooked exactly as ordered. I’d definitely stay again, or just pop in for a meal.

Had the Seafood Platter and it was beautifully presented, tasted amazing, and came with a great range of fresh and cooked seafood. The wait staff were friendly and helpful. There’s plenty of seating indoors and under cover outside, in a lovely spot right on the water at Point Cartwright Drive Buddina.

I’m a support worker and brought along a visually impaired autistic child who loves listening to speakers and music. We arrived about an hour before opening, and the team at Kawana Waters Hotel kindly let us in early and put music on so he could wander around and listen to the speakers. It meant the world to him and gave him the best morning. He was also given a free ice cream, and the gentleman running the fishing expo kindly gave him a free T-shirt. Thank you to everyone for being so welcoming, inclusive and understanding. Those thoughtful gestures made a real difference and won’t be forgotten. ❤️

We usually love the kawana hotel, but dinner on Friday 6th of March was frustrating and disappointing. We’d booked a table and understood it was busy, so a wait was fine. Our group placed three separate orders at the bar, all within five minutes through the ordering app as instructed. The third order arrived 15 minutes after the first meals came out. After another 20 minutes, we asked where the second order was. We were reminded about the wait, which was okay, but someone I assume was a chef yelled at us to get a manager when we asked why the second meals had been missed. The food was lovely, but the timing and the team’s attitude let the night down. I tried raising my concerns at the time, but it fell on deaf ears.
