The bed was clean and comfortable, and there was plenty of bathroom linen. The carpet, though, was stained and worn, and I couldn't figure out why two bathroom drawers wouldn't open. I was very disappointed to find that the pool and restaurant are permanently closed, and I don't think Golden Chain management would be happy about that. There was no check-in process, just an open room with the key there.

Both rooms were very quiet, with no complaints from us. Our first was an accessible room, and the second looked out over the creek.

We had booked before arriving because we knew we’d be late. The room was spacious, with a lovely view of the gardens and friendly ducks. It was already warm from the air conditioning when we got in, and the electric blanket was a nice touch.

Burra is such a pretty town, and it was an easy walk in. We were meant to stay two nights but managed to extend to three. I loved having doors at both ends of the motel room, with the back one opening toward the garden and creek. There was room for our luggage on the single bed, plus a table with three chairs, a sofa for watching telly, and a couple more chairs out the back. Well done.

The online check-in went smoothly, and our room was clean and peaceful for our one-night stop. We were very happy with the reasonable price, lovely river view, and easy walk into town. I'd recommend it for a stopover.
