I slept well here, which surprised me given how central it is. The room stayed quiet at night, and since the rooms face a driveway and wall, it was dark and cool in the morning too. It was clean, good value, and cheap enough, with very friendly reception staff. There’s a small kitchen in the room with everything you’d need, and the property felt secure with its gates locked at night. No complaints, it’s a well-run little place.

The location made it easy to walk to the beach and into town, and the place was tidy, clean, and wonderfully quiet. Sylvie at reception made us feel welcome with her warm smile and greeting. She even mailed back something we’d accidentally left behind, which we really appreciated. That kind of service makes a difference. We had a fantastic, relaxing stay at Bay Beach Motel and will definitely return.

The hotel is well located and the rooms are nice, but we couldn't enjoy our stay because of the late-night noise from a bar or nightclub. It was too much. If a quiet night matters to you, I wouldn't stay here.

We were hoping to enjoy our last night in Byron Bay, but around 11 pm on Sept 26, 2025, loud banging on doors and windows started in the room next to ours. A couple were fighting and screaming at each other, and the man was locked outside while the woman wouldn't let him in. It woke us up, and I felt unsafe. Police arrived around midnight to deal with the couple near our room. There was no one from reception we could call for help. I wouldn't recommend this Motel, especially for a family wanting to enjoy their stay.

The rooms were average, and the live DJ next door played ridiculously loud music until 1 am. It felt like the place was made of paper, with no sound insulation at all. We booked two nights but decided to leave after the first. Instead of a refund for the unused night, they offered us a room at their budget cabin and campground place. We felt tired, robbed, and taken advantage of. If they'd offered a refund for the night we weren't staying, I'd feel very differently about this review. If you need a good night's sleep, this isn't the place. Shoddy motel and shoddy management. For reference, I've never left a one-star review before.
