The staff were fantastic, especially housekeeping, who were absolutely top notch. The room was clean, a little dated, and the beds were comfortable. We'd stay again. We stayed with our son and had one queen bed and one single. It was a small room, so easy enough to keep cool, with air conditioning and a fan. There was also a microwave, toaster, private shower and toilet. Just be aware that our room didn't have the cooker shown in the Booking.com pictures, which is why we'd booked. That mismatch wasn't the hotel's fault. The washing machine and dryer were shared, at $4 each, and not in the room as we'd assumed from the pictures. Breakfast was included: tea, coffee, Milo, muffins, donuts and juice. There's a small shared area behind reception with a TV, and the pool is a good size.

I was pleasantly surprised by how clean the rooms were on my first stay at Cairns City Palms. The location was great, management were friendly, and they put out free coffee and cakes for guests every morning. I'll definitely stay again 😊

The floor was so dirty that I had to sanitize it every day. We stayed almost 20 days, and linen only gets changed every four days, so we kept having to ask for fresh linen, towels and a bath mat. One day I finally sent them a complaint about the service. There was also fiber floating in the air from the air conditioning. We both got sick.

We stayed for two nights. It's close to town, with a great location and friendly staff, and breakfast was provided. It was a much better place to stay than the six nights we spent in Port Douglas. Very clean and highly recommended.
