The pool and the quiet atmosphere made this a really relaxing family break. We could usually find a sun lounge, and sometimes had the pool to ourselves. The staff were lovely and laidback, and we enjoyed walking along the esplanade into the city. We even caught some fireworks. Our family room worked really well, the food was excellent, especially the curry laksa and very good steak, and everything felt clean and comfortable. The hotel is a little dated with low ceilings, but that didn’t bother us. We all slept wonderfully, which is unusual for us. I’d definitely recommend it.

The ocean view over the Esplanade and the large, beautiful pool were real highlights, especially for my wife, who loves swimming. We stayed April 8-10 and felt we got one of the best deals we’ve ever had in decades of travel. The buffet was top notch, with the best eggs benedict ever, and the staff were attentive. Everyone was friendly and accommodating, and Richard deserves a special mention for helping us access the breakfast buffet. The place was very clean and well managed. If we make it back to this beautiful part of the world, we’ll stay here again.

Room service was clearly prepared by a top class chef. My room also had a wonderful view of the Esplanade and everything I needed. The only drawback was the shower: with the pressure turned up, it could make the bathroom flood a little. From arrival to departure, though, I had a wonderful stay. I’ll definitely stay here again when I’m in Cairns.

The breakfast was delicious and had plenty of choice, and I really liked the bar’s craft beer on tap. The hotel was very clean, and everyone was helpful and polite throughout our stay. Special thanks to Mr. Richard for such outstanding service. Highly recommend staying here.

We had a sea view room, and the view felt like a million dollar one at a budget price. The room was cleaned every day, which you don’t see much these days, and getting to shops and restaurants was easy. Free parking was another plus. Cairns itself is beautiful and relaxing, with friendly, helpful people, and the Harbourside Hotel had the same welcoming, at home feel. Clean, relaxing, and easy, just how a vacation should be.
