Escape On Lake

We didn't feel safe in this apartment because of its location. A group of drunk people gathered right outside, making a lot of noise and mess. We were worried they might break in or damage the apartment, so we ended up calling the police. Reception only stays open until 4pm. I wouldn't recommend staying here.

I wouldn't suggest this place for a couple or anyone who needs good sleep. It may be reasonably priced and easy to get around from, but Unit 6 had a paper thin blanket and no soundproofing in the bathroom. We could hear every footstep from upstairs. At midnight, the fire detector suddenly went off while we were asleep. The chaos lasted a few minutes, but after that we couldn't sleep. Honestly, it was traumatic. I know this is a budget place and can't be compared with a hotel, but a place being offered for stays should have at least basic soundproofing. They said someone had smoked and the detector was working. My partner and I never smoke, though. When we went upstairs around 4am to see what was happening, there were a few people there who looked confused and disoriented, and we couldn't smell smoke. Even if someone in the building had smoked, I don't see how that could set off such a crazy loud fire alarm all the way at 4am. I don't think so.

The rooms are large and quiet, and the AC is good. There are plenty of cafes and restaurants within walking distance, along with a pharmacy warehouse, hospital and Prodive shop. A big mall with Woolworths, target and kmart is nearby too. Just right for a short stay.

We hadn't checked our emails for two weeks while on holiday, so we missed the request for a credit card and the message to call for key instructions. That made things a bit confusing and inconvenient, especially as the car rental pickup was closed after hours. The second time we went to the door, someone was there, though. The room was comfortable and in a really handy location, and we enjoyed our stay. Thanks, team.
