The house didn’t look like the photos, as some decor and furnishings had been removed. I enjoyed the stay itself, but afterwards the owner sent an extremely rude message asking for $300 for alleged damages. He said I hadn’t cleaned the BBQ or had left dishes, though I watched my partner do them, and accused me of smoking inside. He also said there’s an extra fee if every bed is used because of laundry costs, even though all sheets should be washed anyway. It makes me wonder why there are housekeepers if they won’t do dishes that were already clean, clean a barbecue used once, or put on an extra load of laundry. Being watched by neighbours who report what’s happening at the house also felt uncomfortable. I was very upset by the demand after paying for a place that was falsely advertised.

Sandy Toes Beach House had everything we needed and more, and the neighbourhood was lovely. It was just a two-minute walk to the beach. The kitchen and bathroom were clean and tidy, and the bed was comfortable. Our Dalmatian loved the fenced backyard, with fences high enough that he couldn’t jump over, so we felt safe leaving him out there. We’d definitely book again.

The outdoor area needs attention. The handrail was in bad shape, with loose wooden boards and rusty nails showing, which felt dangerous for our 3- and 2-year-olds. Apart from that, the house was fantastic: spacious and comfortable for a big family, with a well-equipped kitchen and only a short distance from the beach.

Peter was super quick to communicate, which made things easy. The house was clean and well equipped, and Callala beach was very close, with Callala bay shops only a 5-minute drive away. There’s a big fenced backyard where dogs and young kids can run around and play. We had a really nice holiday and would highly recommend the house to anyone visiting the area. Thanks again, Peter!

The TV antenna was acting up, so only some channels worked, though there were movies on a hard drive. The beds were firm, and the kitchen was well equipped. We had three fires in the fire pit out back, and there’s wood all around in the nearby forests. The yard is large enough for a kelpie to run, with a covered table and BBQ area, and heaps of heaters for cold nights. It was comfortable and clean, about 10 minutes from a sensational beach. For newness and comfort, I’d say around 3.5 out of 5.
