The room itself was fine, but the basic services and customer care were severely lacking. I rarely leave a negative review, but my stay at Little National Hotel Canberra was extremely frustrating, and I’d strongly reconsider booking again. I hope management takes these problems seriously. On our first night, the TV didn’t work. There was no service crew available until morning, so after a long drive we couldn’t relax in the room as expected. The next day, after exploring Canberra, the parking boom gate wouldn’t open. Reception said they couldn’t fix it until the following morning and directed us to park in an open area beside a construction site. When I raised concerns about possible damage or risks there, the response was dismissive. I was told to remove valuables from the car and that the hotel accepted no responsibility. I understand general liability limits, but there was no reassurance or concern. Then, after a long day, we returned hoping to rest and found there was no hot water. Reception said the boiler was down and we’d have to wait until morning. A hot shower is a basic necessity for a hotel of this standard. Reception repeatedly gave stock responses, with no urgency, ownership, or genuine effort to resolve anything. The stay didn’t meet even minimum expectations for comfort and service.

I loved the simple decor, lighting, and overall setup, especially the library and cafe, but after a 10 hour drive I was very disappointed to find them closed. They close when the hotel isn’t busy. The hotel was hugely apologetic and accommodating, though. The bed was super big and comfortable, and I loved seeing clouds through the huge window. I slept and showered really well, which is what matters most to me. It feels like a student hotel, not flash but good to stay in. There’s no cutlery, only cups and glasses, and the fridge is more of a tiny cooler with no freezer. I use an esky, so there wasn’t much cooling for me that day. I’d like them to provide a fresh air space. If you’re sensitive to smells, it’s strongly perfumed, though pleasant.

This has become my go-to hotel in Canberra after a couple of stays, and the location is perfect. Reception staff are lovely and go out of their way to make the stay enjoyable. Special mention to Caitlin and Indra for their amazing service and energy. The rooms are compact but just right, with one of the best hotel beds I’ve slept in and blackout curtains that make it easy to rest. The bathrooms are lovely too. I like the hotel’s minimal design, and the library, lounge, and coffee machine on level 6 are nice touches. There’s even sleepy time T2 tea and a teapot in the room. I’ll definitely be back a lot.

The staff are really lovely, and both check-in and checkout were smooth and completely online. The facilities are modern and easy to use. And the bed is AMAZING, huge, almost a third of the room, with extra long pillows. Gorgeous hotel, go stay.

The lounge was a great place to meet up, and the hotel is within walking distance of bars at nearby hotels and restaurants. It has lovely views and great amenities, and the place was clean and tidy. The atmosphere felt fresh and moody, with a stunning scent as soon as I arrived in the lobby. The staff were fantastic and super friendly, and answered every question. It’s a fabulous hotel and concept, a gem for business or pleasure. If only more hotels were this fantastic.
