Capricorn Holiday Park

The pet cabin felt like home for the night, with plenty of space, everything clean, and the basics for a hot drink and shower. It had comfortable furnishings and a sweet little garden where we could park and enjoy some quiet. The staff were helpful and the whole place felt relaxed and welcoming. The nearby dog and car wash was handy. It’s a little outside town, but still close to the attractions and main roads in and out of Carnarvan. A much-needed stopover.

We were passing through on our way south. The room was clean and tidy, with cooking facilities, and the friendly staff made our short stop really enjoyable 😊

There was plenty to do on site, with a bowling green, pool table and badminton table in a room for a small fee. The pool looked good, though the surrounding area was basic, and a food van usually parks by the camp kitchen. We liked our stay, but found there wasn’t much to do around town. The park was busy, and the car and caravan wash at the entrance seemed busy all the time. Our spot in the older section was level, shaded and roomy enough for the car. The price was good. The amenities were dated but clean, and the ones at the back looked newer.

We were charged $60 after booking nine nights in advance, while friends with the same rig paid $37 pn. When we questioned it, the answer was that we’d accepted the quote, so tough luck. It felt like we’d been ripped off, and the admin side showed poor form and ethics. The weather was dusty and windy, so sitting outside wasn’t possible. Facilities were okay, the pool wasn’t, and the staff were good. I don’t blame them.
