We had a good time using the swimming pool and sauna, and this visit the pool was warm. On our last visit, the pool heating wasn't working so we couldn't use it. It's a lovely family resort in a great location, with swimming and golf, though the rooms feel very outdated. Our three-bedroom apartment had a fridge that was far too small and a dining table with room for only four. The sofa felt damp, as if it hadn't been cleaned in a long time, and one balcony door wouldn't open because its lock was broken. When we switched on the air conditioning, water dripped from the second-floor ceiling and near the bathroom. The room felt humid throughout and smelled unpleasant. Some dining chairs were broken and unusable. A staff member checked them and replaced four. The front desk staff were polite, but said the resort was fully booked and there were no other rooms. The rooms near ours appeared empty, and the replacement chairs came from two rooms across the hall, so it seemed there may have been vacant rooms after all. I'm an Accor Platinum member and wasn't offered an upgrade. I also don't understand why we couldn't be moved from a room with these problems if the resort was supposedly full. Breakfast was a letdown: little variety, noticeably lower quality than at other places, and even the coffee wasn't good. We skipped it on the second day. Lunch at the restaurant across from the bar was delicious, and the staff there were friendly and attentive. We stayed two nights. I understand the resort is older and looking after so many rooms can be challenging, but these room issues were disappointing.

Breakfast at the club was cold both times we ate there, and dinner wasn't any better. My medium steak arrived overcooked and cold, so cold the butter on top wouldn't melt. The lagoon bar was closed even though we were there on the last day of summer, which was disappointing and didn't make sense. Room 1605 felt more like a student share house than a five-star villa. The walls had scuff marks, the carpets were dirty and the armrests were sticky, as if they hadn't been cleaned in a while. The beds were uncomfortable, with two single mattresses pushed together. The spare room TV didn't work, and no one came to fix it after we contacted reception. There were ants in the bathroom too. The prices were high, but the accommodation, food and service were poor. The stay was extremely disappointing and didn't justify the premium rates.

The balcony and spacious living area in our accommodation were lovely, and I especially enjoyed the outstanding 18-hole golf course. There are several indoor and outdoor pools, a tennis court and a nearby beach as well. From check-in onward, the staff were welcoming and professional. Every person we dealt with, from senior to junior staff, deserves high praise for their customer care. Breakfast was among the most enjoyable food and service we've experienced, and the chef and breakfast team were terrific. I'm usually conservative about recommending accommodation, but I highly recommend Pullman Magenta Shores Resort.

The apartments are comfortable, with two or three beds and the basic amenities. There are lovely lawns for a BBQ, tennis courts and a large outdoor pool, plus a heated indoor pool, sauna and gym. Amazing golf course.

We had a lovely weekend away, except that our bed was terrible and uncomfortable. I told the women at the desk, and Charlotte upgraded us to a beautiful two-bedroom villa and gave us breakfast on the house. The customer service was second to none. Fantastic place to stay, highly recommend it.
