Discovery Parks - Clare

The room was spacious and comfortable, the surroundings were beautiful, and the kids loved the play area. Staff were really friendly and accommodating. They even helped with first aid and bike servicing, which we appreciated. The showers could have been cleaner, with some pink mould in the corners, and a few kitchen utensils still had food marks. The kitchen equipment could use an upgrade too, as some things, like the spatulas, were quite worn. We had a lovely stay overall and would definitely return to Clare Discovery Park.

We were meant to stay four nights, but didn’t go ahead because bees were swarming all over the site we were given, and it was definitely too small for our van. One pool was also out of order when we checked in. At reception, we were first told there were no refunds and that they could only move us to another site. They apparently had nothing left except drive-through sites, and didn’t want to upgrade us. In the end they gave us a full refund, which took five days to come through. It’s left a sour taste. We won’t be back, don’t recommend it, and will probably avoid all Discovery Parks in future.

We spent most of the long weekend relaxing in the shade, chatting with friends and enjoying the beautiful grounds under the soaring gums. There’s loads for adults and kids: two very clean pools, one warm and one cool, a pump track, a huge jumping pillow, playground and splash park. The kids also had kite-making craft and a colour run, and I had a lot of fun at the ‘Paint and sip’. There are wineries, distilleries and playgrounds nearby that you can reach by walking, riding or driving, but we only ventured out a couple of times because the park itself was so lovely. Best long weekend away we’ve had. We’ll definitely return. Thanks for a great holiday.

The park felt well cared for and had a lovely family atmosphere. We camped here recently and loved it. The setting is beautiful, surrounded by nature, while still close to everything in town. Facilities and amenities were clean, accessible and well maintained. Ensuite sites would be a handy addition in future, just a suggestion. We had a fantastic stay and would come back. Highly recommend for a visit to Clare.
