St Helen's Country Cottages

Mum and I had immaculate service and hospitality from our host, Megan, with great communication. The cottage was ready with a fireplace and kindling, plus DVDs, books, and music. Milk, bread, butter, juice, tea and coffee were provided, and bacon and eggs were available on request. The local eateries, scenery, Riesling trail right at the back door, and neighbouring towns with their quirky attractions made this a wonderful Christmas staycation. It would be a great getaway any time of year. I can’t recommend it enough.

We only wish our visit could have been longer. This is a perfect base for visiting Clare Valley wineries, and it was great coming back here at the end of each day. Thank you, we’ll be back.

The location is almost perfect for exploring Clare Valley’s wine region and the many tasting options nearby. We arrived at a clean little 2x1 cottage with breakfast supplies laid out in the kitchen, plus milk and orange juice in the fridge. The wood fire in the middle of the cottage was ready to light, with kindling and fire starters, and wood was supplied each day. Hot water was excellent for dishes and showers, and the small dishwasher made it easy to wash the smaller items. Highly recommend one of the four cottages. We’d happily return if we're back in the valley.

There are several luxury accommodation options on a semi secluded property with large grounds, BBQ facilities, a fire pit and a rotunda. It’s just south of Clare, right on the Riesling trail.
