Clermont Caravan Park

Tradespeople can get a little rowdy on their last night. Otherwise, this is a very basic council-run caravan park with a manager, mostly used by mining workers and service crews. There’s no pool or much else, just a basic camp kitchen, and the amenities are showing their age. Internet was available. They repaired the power supply to the eastern sites while we were there. I thought $50 a night was steep for what you get, but it’s the only park in town, so supply and demand and all that.

Booking was easy and the location suited us, but the room was tiny. It was set up as two connected demountable rooms with one long parking space, which left us unsure how to park: if the people in the other room stopped behind us, we couldn't get out. A bit strange. The air conditioning also struggled.

The managers were friendly and helpful, and although the park is on the edge of town, it’s an easy drive in. I had booked a single room with shared facilities. It was neat and clean, and the small room worked fine for me on my own.

The grounds were tidy, with plenty of bins, and the camp kitchen was good. Our powered caravan spot had level slabs for both the van and car. The amenities are old, though clean. The laundry lost a star for me because the machines weren’t working, maybe it’s hard to get someone out to repair them. It’s near town, with a good meal at Commercial hotel and a great IGA on Main Street.
