Arosa Motel

For $75 a night, it was a very good deal. The owner or manager was pleasant, and the room worked well for the price, though it was very small. It had a standard double bed and a small single tucked into the corner by the toilet door. The vertical blinds need replacing with thick curtains. They did little to block the highway lights and weren't very private, with big gaps. I had to use sticky tape to close them enough.

The worst motel I've ever stayed in. I wouldn't recommend it, as the owner or manager was very dishonest. We were travelling up to Queensland from Sydney and stopped at Arosa Motel for one night because we were exhausted. It cost $95. At first things looked good: the beds were made and there were cups in the fridge for cold drinks. When we asked the manager where we could eat, he rudely told us to “go away,” then gave us a false place. We eventually found somewhere for tea. Back at the motel, we heard a bloke behind our room being abusive to someone on the phone. The bathroom had grime that looked like it had never been cleaned since installation, and there was no hot water. I showered anyway. Then I found bugs and spiders in the bed. There was no after-hours number to call, so I cleaned out the bed and, regrettably, slept in it. I checked out the next day, put the key in the box, and left. After we reached our destination in Queensland, my mother realised she'd left her makeup at the motel. She called and was told they didn't have it because their cleaners were privately owned, followed by more stories.

The room was an adequate size and fairly close to Sawtell, but the bed seemed dirty, so I didn't use the comforter or blanket. I stayed one night. It is much cheaper than other places in Coffs, so you do get what you pay for.

We arrived at 4pm on Saturday, 16th February, for an overnight stay. The beds looked neat, but smelled like an old retirement village. The carpet had what looked like a water stain, with a damp towel left on top, and a STINGE smell hit me as soon as I walked in. The price was average, but not worth putting up with that smell all night. Crappy room, crappy price. I'd rather pay $50 more and book the hotel further down.
