Coffs Motel and Villa

The bed was comfortable and the shower was nice and hot, but I wouldn’t stay here again. The pool was empty, even though there was a photo of it online, and we could hear trucks and cars passing from the room. Our aircon was old and very noisy. The floor was so dirty I could feel grit under my feet and see hair, dust and dirt everywhere, as if it hadn’t been cleaned. I wiped it with wet toilet paper because I didn’t want my toddler walking on it. Don’t even look under the beds. The cutlery and a glass were too dirty to use.

The only real draw is the bargain rate. There is a pool and spa, but both are currently empty. The outdoor seating and BBQ area was often taken over by lots of long stay guests who were there to pick fruit. The rooms are basic, with dated furniture, a double mattress or bunk beds, a small dining table with two chairs, TV, bar fridge, kettle and toaster. The bathroom is cramped, with a narrow sink and no bench or cupboards, between the toilet and shower. The entry door was nearly rotted through because the air conditioning unit above it leaked, and it could be forced open if you tried. I’d be cautious about leaving valuables in the room for long.

Staff were very helpful and the rooms were clean, though only good for sleeping and showering. We arrived to find the pool empty, with no notice beforehand. The manager was rude, yelling, swearing, calling us names, and throwing empty glass bottles and cans at us in front of frightened, crying children. I would 100% not recommend this place.

The manager, Chris, was professional and made a real difference to our stay. I rang him and he called back, offered to help with check in and left his number. The villas are cheap, basic and a little old, but clean and tidy. Everything was neat, and our place looked freshly painted. It’s a good place.
