The Plantation Hotel has a great vibe and kind service. Our takeaway was ready in about ten minutes, and we’ll be back next week for lunch. We might try karaoke or trivia too. We go there for takeaway every week, and the food is delicious. The beer-battered fish and chips and crispy skin barramundi were the best fish we’ve had. The chips were crunchy outside and soft inside, and the garlic bread just melted in my mouth. It’s in a great location with two entrances for accessibility, though parking can sometimes be difficult.

Jazz and Maddie were so sweet and kind behind the bar. They matched our energy and were delightful to be around. We felt really well looked after, and the customer service was the loveliest experience I’ve had in a long time. The place was clean, with a beautiful atmosphere outside. I’d recommend it.

We left and stayed at the Bentleigh motel instead, which was perfect for getting some sleep before a long drive. We weren’t refunded. This place was clean, but the room felt like a prison cell and looked nothing like the photos. The bathroom was shared, which wasn’t ideal with young kids. There was only a sink, seemingly from the 1900s, no TV, and a wardrobe that looked ready to fall over if I coughed. The photos were very misleading.

On my trip from Brisbane to Sydney, I stopped overnight in Coffs Harbour hoping for a decent meal. After waiting 40 minutes, I got an overcooked, cold steak, the worst meal I’ve ever had. The staff were insulting. I’d suggest the RSL across the road instead, where the food and staff are excellent.

The service was poor, the food terrible, and it was overpriced. My medium-well scotch fillet came out burnt, overcooked, and inedible. Waiting more than 20 minutes for mocktails was ridiculous.
