The room was even better than it looked in the photos, with a very comfortable bed and a modern bathroom. From the access corridor to the room, everything was presented exceptionally well. There’s a great view over town, and a local restaurant is only a couple of minutes away by car. Sam checked us in with a warm welcome and was very helpful. She even put a microwave in our room so we could make quick oats before an early start. I doubt there’s better accommodation in town, and we’ll stay again on a trip north or south.

The rooms were spotless and comfortable, and the staff were so friendly. You can walk to almost everything in town from here. Highly recommended.

The shower and bed were great, and everything was exceptionally clean and tidy. I loved seeing how the building was carved out and made trendy while still feeling true to the stone. This place is worth staying at, and I hope Coober Pedy can draw more visitors who want to enjoy its history.

We spent a week at Lookout Cave Underground, and the room was both quirky and comfortable. The outside views were fantastic, and although you don’t need to climb onto the roof to see over Coober Pedy, it’s worth going up. We loved watching flocks of cockatoos in the mornings and evenings and doing a little stargazing at night. After noodling for opal, the coin-operated laundry came in very handy. The owners gave us helpful tips on local restaurants and attractions. Umoona Opal Museum even gave us a discount when we showed our Lookout Cave Underground Motel key. It may be classed as a 3-star motel, but I’d rate it higher. The beds were comfy and the bathroom was nice.
