Cooma High Country Motel

For our family of four, this was very cost effective and good value without giving up comfort or cleanliness. The rooms at High Country Motel were very clean and newly renovated, making the stay feel fresh. The staff were incredibly kind, and the generous check-in time made our arrival less stressful. We had a great stay, and I’d highly recommend it to families staying in Cooma.

It’s a convenient spot near town, shops, food, and the surrounding high country area. I had an easy check-in, and the staff were welcoming. My room was quiet and the bed comfortable, so I slept well. It was clean, comfortable, and had what I needed for a relaxing stay at the Cooma High Country Motel. Great value and hassle-free. I’d stay again and recommend it to people visiting Cooma or passing through.

Good prices compared with other places in Cooma, especially when hotels are full of workers, and it’s an easy walk to pubs and restaurants. The rooms suit solo workers like me or couples, and there already seem to be plenty of grey nomads and touring groups staying here. They’re small, meant for sleeping and getting ready rather than hanging out, but it works. The bench and chairs are handy for a laptop, though space is tight at the end of the bed. There’s a kitchenette with a proper small fridge and freezer, a great bathroom, modern TV, lots of power and USB points, and great beds. Check-in and checkout are easy with flexible times. Some parking is covered, with what looks like more being built. There seems to be a lot of work going into the grounds. For longer stays, a luggage bench or drawers and hangers in the small cupboard would help.

We brought our two dogs since the place is pet friendly, and got the last room for the night after just turning up. It was a good price, and we were the first people to use the brand new room. It’s modern, with two air conditioners, one in each room. Both bedroom TVs were smart TVs with Netflix and YouTube, and the backyard looks toward town.
