We loved staying in the golden orchid cottage at the Epiphyte. The indoor-outdoor kitchen was really well equipped, the views were beautiful, and there were plenty of lovely places just a 5-10 minute drive away. Breakfast came with an incredible tropical fruit platter. Matt was a fantastic host. We enjoyed hearing the story behind the Epiphyte and getting his many tips for places to see in the Daintree, which added a lot to our trip. Thanks so much, Matt 😊 Tom & Lucy

We had such a good time at Matt’s place and wished we could have stayed longer. The shared breakfast table gives the place a bit of a community feel, so if you want lots of privacy, it might not suit you. We enjoyed meeting people there. It’s right in the jungle, and you can spot wildlife from the porch. Matt was very helpful with travel suggestions. We spent two lovely nights there. All the best, Andrea and Jan

The welcome home sign at the entrance says it all. The house is cozy, beautiful and friendly, and we quickly felt at home. Our room gave us plenty of privacy, though we also enjoyed meeting the other guests in the shared open space. Matt cares deeply about the rainforest and it was lovely hearing about his story and learning from him. We had a wonderful stay and hope to come back.

Christmas at Matt’s place felt so comfortable and homey because he went out of his way to look after us. The fruit platter at breakfast was delicious, and the rainforest sounds were lovely to wake up and fall asleep to. The place itself is lovely too. A great choice if you want peace and quiet while staying close to everything the Daintree has to offer.

We spent five nights in the self-contained Hibiscus cottage, in a lovely quiet spot. Matt is friendly, knows the area well and was always helpful. He also puts out a wonderful range of tropical fruit for breakfast.
