Culburra Beachhouse

We’ve stayed at Culburra Beachhouse so many times I’ve lost count. It’s become our usual coastal escape. The house is bright, comfortable, has a lovely feel and is thoughtfully equipped. Everything is scrupulously clean, and the yard is secure for dogs or kids. It’s at the quiet end of the beach, with lots of native birds around. Walk out the back gate, take your own path over the dunes and you’re on the sand. The beach is great for walks, and the deck is heaven, with surf sounds and a magnificent ocean and beach view. Morning latte or evening wine out there, I wish we were still there and can’t wait to return.

We loved this house, especially the calm feeling of the glass-fronted living room facing the beach. In the morning, the kitchen view through the clear window to the Pacific is lovely company for a cup of tea or coffee. Step through the sliding door into the very private backyard, with little birds and fresh air, and the Pacific is only a few steps away. It’s amazing, you have to see it to believe it. The layout works perfectly for a group of families: three couples can have bedrooms in the corners, with two middle rooms containing four bunk beds. One bedroom has an ensuite, and the shared bathroom and shower/laundry are easy for everyone to reach. Culburra is close by if you need supplies. A wonderfully relaxing getaway, highly recommended if you want the Pacific right in your backyard.

The house had everything we needed for a holiday, and Jenny has clearly thought through what guests might need. It was fantastic, and we can’t wait to return to Seakissed Beach House. We spent lots of time on the sunny deck, enjoying the beautiful ocean view as it changed. The fenced yard was great for outdoor play, and our three Staffies could come inside, which was the icing on the cake. Seakissed was perfectly set up for a pet-friendly break, and we absolutely loved our three-night stay. A private track from the bottom gate takes you a short walk to a dog-friendly beach. Check local signs for the rules: dogs can be off leash at certain hours and must be on leash at other times. During our midweek stay the beach was deserted, so our three had a great time running freely.

Communication was excellent, and we had a great weekend. The stay was exactly as described. The bunk beds were a good size and easily suited adults. We really appreciated the stocked pantry and the extra fridge space.
