Hudson Parap

The apartment was clean, nicely furnished and comfortable, with plenty of space. It had a settee, two club chairs, a table for four, a desk and chair, plus a full fridge, oven, cooktop, dishwasher and washer/dryer. Everything seemed newer, and the staff were welcoming and helpful. I booked through Expedia and thought it was great value. Parap is a good, safe area, with cafes, a chemist and shops within two blocks. Museums, the botanical gardens and waterfront are accessible by car. Darwin isn’t very big. Those attractions can be walked to from the CBD, but it would take all day, and Darwin can get hot. Behind the property is the historical Quantas hanger, full of machinery and vehicles. “The Hudson” takes its name from an early CEO of Quantas.

The street was generally quiet, even though the large room was close to the Parap markets. It was a great location, and the price was significantly lower than similar hotels in town. Getting around Darwin is easy, so we didn’t notice the distance. We had a quick swim in the small pool and used the property's card at the Darwin Trailer Boat Club for discounted food and drinks. That was great, and there are other memberships and discounts too, a nice little bonus on top of an already great stay. I’ll look here first next time I’m in Darwin.

The apartments were spotless and lovely, and the staff made us feel genuinely welcome. Their service had that warm, attentive feel you don't often see anymore. Whoever trains them should set up a gold standard training agency. Thanks for a great stay!

The reception team helped me find places to eat, activities, supermarkets, and gave useful directions throughout my stay. As a woman traveling alone to visit a family member in hospital, I also wanted good security, parking, a pool, nearby shops and cafes, and an apartment where I could work and prepare meals. This place covered all of that, and I couldn't have chosen better. I even looked at the accessible apartment for my family member's discharge, and it was great too. I'd definitely recommend staying here.
