Queensberry Springs Villa 1

We stayed here with our family and were disappointed by several things, even though the property has potential. The fridge freezer didn’t work properly, so we couldn’t use it and had to throw away some food. The ducted heating was switched off, with a note on the thermostat saying “do not use.” Daylesford gets well below zero at this time of year, so we bought heaters for the bedrooms to keep warm, especially with our baby there. There was water damage in the bathrooms, including mould and rotting wood in the main bath. We tried to contact the agent and owner about the freezer and heating, but heard nothing during our stay. This could be a lovely property if the general maintenance were taken care of, as you’d expect for a short stay. I’ve travelled extensively and wouldn’t return unless the much-needed repairs and care were done.

The layout and location were good, but the house was cold and the rest of the stay was disappointing. There was no heating in the bedrooms or bathrooms. With our one-year-old daughter there, we saw the bedroom temperature drop to 12 degrees in the middle of the night and had to buy two fan heaters. The gas fireplace in the living room was lovely, but couldn’t heat such a large house. After I left a review with the booking company, the owner gave us a bad review, rating our communication and cleanliness two stars. We left the property cleaner than we found it, and had also paid a cleaning fee. Someone in our group tried several times to contact the owner about the heating, but still hasn’t received a reply. It’s a shame, because I would’ve stayed again, but this experience left a sour taste.
