Bowerbank Mill B&B

We arrived at Bowerbank Mill in Deloraine in January 2017 expecting a lovely stay, but it looked nothing like the online photos. The place seemed run down, and the only person there was the woman running it. She said a bathroom leak meant we couldn't stay and sent us to a house on Dale Street. At first we didn't mind, since we were glad to finally be in Tasmania. Later, locals told us this excuse was used regularly and that Bowerbank Mill had had no visitors for months. The Dale Street house smelled strongly of dust. Opening or closing a window left a thick layer from the curtains on my shirt. The dust was unbearable, and one of my children and I began having trouble breathing, so I had to find somewhere else for my family. The next night, a lovely woman who ran a gorgeous B&B, now sadly closed, took us in and looked after us so well. The contrast with Bowerbank Mill was stark. Ever since staying at the Dale Street house, I've had breathing trouble and needed inhalers. Don't be taken in by the lovely photos or the story about Bowerbank Mill. I believe it's a con. Stay away.
