Deloraine Hotel

We stopped in for lunch at the counter and found the staff very friendly and welcoming. A few locals were at the bar, while the dining area was mostly tourists. The pub is a large place at the end of the main street, with accommodation, pokies, a dining room, public and sports bars, a small beer garden, little verandah and bottle shop. The meals were good value and reasonably priced in both the dining room and bar. The chicken burger was $20 and the steak sandwich $24, both generous portions with plenty of crispy chips. There’s free street parking, a pleasant walk by the stream across the road, and the main street is worth a stroll.

For the price, this was well worth it. My room and the bathrooms were clean, there was plenty of space between rooms, and I never heard other guests. The shared bathrooms were always available. There are lots of services on site, including a bar and restaurant. My one complaint, and the reason for four stars, is the internet. It was down for most of my one-night stay. From around 6 pm it was usually out, and whenever it came back it didn't last long, which seriously got in the way of my work.

A great two-star hotel. The rooms are clean and comfortable, though the pillows are too big. Bathrooms are super clean, and the shared kitchen area has lots of space. The only downside was the very noisy train at night.

For $65, I got a single-bed room that was clean, with a nice shared bathroom. There’s also an upstairs lounge for guests and laundry facilities. The keycard lets you in after hours. If I’m passing through Deloraine again, I wouldn’t look elsewhere.
