Yandina Caravan Park

The Wi-Fi issue was a dealbreaker for me. When I asked the 'superior' for the password, I was told the free Wi-Fi was only for the cabin TV and couldn't be used on mobile phones. The property advertises free Wi-Fi, which I consider false advertising. Had I known there was no phone Wi-Fi, I wouldn't have booked. At check-in on 6 Jan 2026, I stood at the small reception desk for a while while the girl behind it talked to her superior. She didn't acknowledge me or even glance my way. My detailed review was censored on hotels.com, where only the rating appeared. I complained to hotels.com several times, but nothing was done, and they still advertise free Wi-Fi. If there really is Wi-Fi for phones, then that person lied to me. Shame on you.

We had a relaxing stay, especially enjoying the pool and outdoor BBQ area. The cabin itself was comfortable, clean, and well maintained. There was no internet during our visit, which could be a downside for some. Also, each time we needed to pass through the barriers, we had to get out of the car and open them by hand. A lovely spot, with a couple of small hassles.

We thought we’d booked a powered grass tent site, but were told we couldn’t switch because of possible flooding. I understand that, but our large tent wouldn’t fit on a concrete slab, and the staff refused to refund us. We’re homeless with four kids and animals right now, and losing $355 left us without somewhere to go next until we can get more money. The front office staff had a terrible run-in with my partner and me while we tried to get a refund, which we never got. There were cigarette butts and rubbish around the grounds, too. The pictures online only showed the good parts of the park. Be careful before booking.

On our third day at the caravan park, the power went out and caused short circuits for us and the campers nearby. We had arrived with a caravan and paid for an electricity-only connection, so going without power was a serious problem. The caravan area is beside the river and has lots of mosquitoes, and we had no way to contact the owners to make things better. We asked why we’d been left without power overnight but got no response. The receptionist only said the boss was on holiday and couldn’t help. We’re very dissatisfied. Anyone travelling with a caravan knows how essential electricity is. The place was dirty, full of spiders, and not properly clean.
