The meals were quite good, which helped make up for the long wait. We’d gone on a recommendation, but the place was packed with what seemed to be a late St Patrick’s function. The poor woman was taking orders, sorting things out and bringing food, so we understood there’d be a delay. Still, an hour was a lot. Hard to blame them too much, but it was disappointing.

The man behind the bar was really rude. I went in for a beer, but the service was so bad I left after half a beer. It tasted awful too. Worst person I’ve met.

The rooms are simple, with shared bathrooms, but they’ve recently been freshened up. It’s a good country pub, with welcoming hosts and a friendly local crowd. The evenings were quiet, and there’s a guest lounge upstairs. The traditional pub food came out quickly.

Paul and Tracey run a great place, and I’ll be back next time I’m in town. We had dinner there every night and were pleased with the quality and prices each time. The bar had ice cold beer and a good atmosphere, and the rooms were clean and comfortable, with updated shared bathrooms.

The meals are delicious and good value, and the owners are great company. Always a cold beer too. Definitely stop in.
