Southcamp

The staff were warm and accommodating, and the bed was large and really comfortable. The cabins are compact but have what you need, with a roomy bathroom, mini fridge, and filtered water, just as shown in the pictures. Southcamp is a modern little oasis off the Main Street, central yet quiet, with pleasant outdoor spaces. A lovely place to relax after exploring the area.

Management greeted me with a friendly smile, and I had no problems during my stay. Southcamp also has its own bar and cafe, plus plenty of lawn around the rooms, which seems great for families or groups wanting a communal feel. It's right in central Dunsborough, close to bars, restaurants, and shopping. I booked through Agoda, and staff handled my questions and messages really well. I'd recommend it to anyone visiting or passing through.

The showers are nice, but I came away really disappointed with Southcamp. The rooms are very small and there's no bedside table. There's also no cooking setup at all, no microwave, no sink, nothing, which seems unusual when most hotels have something. The staff were friendly, but that's about as far as I'd go. Even a small kitchenette or a barbecue in the outdoor area would help.

The cabin looked cute at first, but its bathroom door wouldn't stay shut, and the only place to wash dishes was in the bathroom since there was no sink. There was a strange smell too. At reception, we waited while two staff members talked and laughed, looked over at us, and didn't help. After it became clear we were checking in, one of them eventually came over with the key. We were glad it was just one night and left as early as we could after checking out online. They should check the cabin doors and improve customer service. I doubt I'd return.
