Eagle Heights Villas

The view from Unit 11 was impressive, but the rest of our stay was a letdown. We had booked two nights and left after the first. The unit smelled bad and seemed neglected. I found mold inside the fridge, and a UV light revealed stains left by a previous guest. The shower couldn't be used: it was clogged, leaked all over, and wouldn't drain. Even basic things like a clean fridge and a working shower weren't taken care of. When I raised the problems, the caretaker was dismissive and didn't apologize or seem concerned. After I sent photos, his replies became rude and unprofessional. I wouldn't recommend this property.

The view is hard to beat, especially from Units 6 or 7, which sit right on the cliff with nothing blocking the outlook. Unit 7 is upstairs, with two bedrooms and a narrow porch that wraps around. It's well maintained. WiFi was patchy, but wow, that view. There's a grill guests can use and a small pool too.

We had to move our booking by two weeks because of bad weather, and the host was accommodating. The price was reasonable, and Unit 12 had great views over 2foldbay. The dryer was a bonus, the kitchen came with dishes, coffee, sugar and milk sachets, and there was Foxtel and NBN WiFi for entertainment. The iron and vacuum were useful during our stay of more than three days. A few things felt dated, as another review had mentioned. The air conditioning didn't work, which would be important in summer, and the second bedroom needs a fan for warm nights. The bay-facing room got a cool breeze if you left the doors open, but watch out for mosquitoes and bring repellent. Eagle heights has a good 1.8-metre-deep pool with a jacuzzi, plus a sheltered spot at the cliff edge that's great for breakfast or a BBQ overlooking the bay. Eden is a gem if you want a break from busy Sydney. It's worth the drive, and we'd visit again.
