Direct Collective - Villas on Rivergum

It’s a little out of the way, but that helps keep things nice and quiet. There are plenty of parking options, including secure garage parking.

We stumbled across this apartment while checking flights at flight centre. I was unsure about the 4 stars at first, but we booked because it was cheap. Once we arrived, we kept wondering why we’d been concerned. The place is amazing, and really spacious for just the two of us. 😅 The unit has basic equipment for a stay, including a kettle, pans, plates, mugs, cups, utensils and a knife. There are also tea, coffee, sugar and a little milk in the fridge. We had our own parking garage, plus a washing machine and dryer with small packets of laundry powder. An iron is in the garage cabinet too. My partner and I had a great stay and experience in this villa, and we’ll definitely come back when we visit Emerald. The staff were accommodating and friendly. The location is the main downside. It’s far from the city for buying food and other necessities, though the airport is only 6 minutes away by car. There’s no public transport, but the villa can book a taxi for you.

We ended up needing to stay in Emerald for 10 nights after our camper needed repairs, and tried four places in and around town before finding somewhere comfortable here. The accommodation is fabulous and spacious, with a small garden and garage parking. The staff were lovely and accommodating. There was everything we could have wanted: a large bedroom with a very comfy bed, a bathroom with a separate bath and shower, a lounge and dining area with a TV that included full Foxtel, and a fully equipped kitchen with a dishwasher. Laundry facilities were in the garage. I’d recommend staying here and would come back, hopefully under different circumstances!

The lock up garage with direct access to the unit was more than we expected, and both the bed and two seater lounge were extremely comfortable. The kitchen was spacious and well equipped too. We travel a lot, and in 30 years this is one of the best value, most spacious and comfortable places we’ve stayed. It was our first stay with Direct Hotels. If this Emerald unit is typical of Direct Hotels Accommodation, we’ll look for more of their places first on our next trips.
