Esk Wivenhoe Motor Inn

The shower was dreadful, with very little water pressure. The place is old, run down and very dated, and needs a lot of money spent to bring it up to standard. It appears to be owned by the Esk caravan park. When we booked, we thought it was part of the actual park, but it isn’t, it’s a block away.

The rooms are fine, but there’s no soundproofing, so you hear every snore from next door. If you’re travelling the trail, note that although the motel is right on the trail, check-in is at the caravan park a couple of blocks away. Otherwise, the location is good and close to shops.

Esk is a lovely town, and Esk Wivenhoe Motor Inn is right in the heart of it. Make the most of the Rail Trail and visit this place, but book early as Esk has limited accommodation. We only stayed overnight, and Lisa was so accommodating and friendly. The room was clean and tidy. Drinks from the mini fridge were surprisingly affordable, and after a long day on the bike, those fizzy drinks really hit the spot.

My room was very clean and modern, and fitted out with a lot of thoughtful extras I don’t usually get in a motel. There was toilet freshener, a dishcloth and tea towel, and a decent-sized milk instead of those useless little pods. An adapter was attached to the side of the bedside table, so you could charge four devices if needed. The instructions for using the remotes and switching between Fox and free TV were clear and detailed. I just loved how thoughtfully the room was set up. This is a great motel in the heart of Esk, just a minute’s walk from shops, groceries, cafes and an antique shop. I’d highly recommend it if you need somewhere to stay in the area.
