Lake Forbes Motel

The pool was a nice cold spot to cool off in the heat. It's a little small and uses a mix of chlorine and salt, but check with reception about late opening. The room was clean and tidy, with fresh quality sheets. There was some wear and tear, though it didn't bother us. It also had A/C, a fridge, toaster and kettle. Trucks passed on the nearby road, but the noise wasn't loud and didn't wake us. The new curated parkland and large fountain area with amenities is a two minute walk away.

We didn't stay and were refused a refund. The room was dirty, with rubbish behind the toilet and mould in the bathroom. The replacement room wasn't any better. There were dirty coffee cups and overflowing ashtrays outside the room, and the pool was filthy. The property is poorly maintained. The person at reception spoke very poor English. There's much better accommodation elsewhere in Forbes.

The room was clean and the bed was comfortable, so it worked for an overnight stay. The place is older, and the surrounding area could use a clean.

We stayed here last night, 22/8/25. The rooms are small but very clean. Three cars, ours and two others, had their windows smashed and items taken. I understand this wasn't the proprietor's fault, but be aware and don't leave visible bags in your car if you stay at Lake Forbes Motel.
