There are loads of pebbles and not much sand, so maybe this beach would otherwise be called "Sandy Beach". It’s an interesting spot for its carboniferous brachiopod fossils.

The pebbles make this a pretty and interesting beach, but they’re uncomfortable underfoot. I probably wouldn’t swim here either, since there’s no supervision.

A lovely little beach with golden-white sand and a pool. To the left, there’s a man-made rock area that’s great for fishing and gives access to the deeper water.

Pebbly Beach sits below Second Head Lookout along Forster’s Bicentennial Walk, right in the centre of town. Families come for the Tanks rock formation, which creates a pretty little inlet for swimming and relaxing. There’s plenty of sand as well as long stretches of smooth, round ocean-polished rocks that are good for snorkelling. It’s a popular swimming beach, and surfing is also enjoyed here when conditions are right. The nearby park beside the walk has a playground, picnic shelters, barbecues and public toilets. The beach is not patrolled.
