Discovery Parks - Bright

The natural surroundings are beautiful, and the scenery was a big reason we chose this park. With three young kids, we thought staying on site instead of exploring elsewhere would make things easier and more fun for them. It didn't. There were no children's activities, nothing organised for New Year's, and no food or coffee vans, so there wasn't much to keep the kids entertained at a place that promotes itself as family-friendly. The accommodation was also far below an acceptable level of cleanliness for what we paid. There was mould in the dish rack, cobwebs and lots of dust behind the bunk beds, filthy dishes, a broken toaster, and pots and pans in poor condition. I've stayed at quite a few Discovery Parks over the years, but this was by far the biggest disappointment. The location is lovely, but the park didn't provide the comfortable, family-friendly stay we expected or justify the cost. We won't return.

We had a delightful four days here. The grounds were neat, and our spacious cabin was clean and set far enough from the neighbours. The kids had lots to do, and the river nearby was great for swimming or floating down on a tube. There are good walking tracks too, and Bright is reasonably close. It's a very pretty area all around. The staff were lovely and friendly. Thank you.

There are plenty of peaceful places to unwind, and the facilities are fantastic. Our cabin was spotless, cozy, and had everything we needed for a relaxing break. The park is beautifully maintained, with lush greenery and stunning mountain views, a true gem in the heart of Bright. From arrival, everything felt warm, welcoming, and well organised. It's a great mix of comfort and nature. We highly recommend it and will definitely come back.

The cabin was the dirtiest place I've ever stayed. The fridge was dirty and the vegetable drawer still had old food in it. I found tablets and old underwear in the drawers, the stove was feral, and underneath the beds was a whole city of dust bunnies. I believe it was an economy cabin, though it cost over $1,000 for three nights, so maybe they don't clean those properly because they're considered cheap. The facilities and location are brilliant, and if we'd been camping it would've easily been five stars. An older man also angrily told us we couldn't charge our EV in the park because the cables were a trip hazard and the park didn't have enough electricity. That was bizarre, since caravan cables ran across the whole park with every site connected to the power supply. I guess he just has an issue with EVs and decided to have a go at us for owning one.
