We were welcomed with complimentary port and chips, and our hosts were clearly proud of the property. It’s in a very quiet spot almost on the waterfront, on a no-through road. The Pier hotel, the fantastic Zenith distillery, and Woolworths are under five minutes away on foot, while the main street is about a two-minute walk. Our Cumberland suit was enormous and had all the comforts of home. There was a separate bedroom, a huge bathroom with a spa and separate shower, and a big open-plan lounge and kitchen with a range, hot plates, microwave, and more. The lounge had two electric cinema-style recliners and a large TV with Foxtel, plus a four-setting round dining table. There was even room for a large desk and a printer for anyone needing to work. The beds were comfortable, with electric blankets when needed, and there were lots of power points, which is rare. We didn’t need the aircon, but it was there. Honestly, this was the best accommodation we could have asked for.

The owners make the stay so much better, and the service is fantastic. The rooms are super luxurious. If you’re touring Tasmania or just need somewhere to stay, book here. When I need to book a place now, I know nothing will beat the Charles Robbins in Georgetown. Simply the BEST!!!

Right on the banks of the Tamar, it’s a pretty, peaceful spot. The rooms were cozy, clean, and had excellent facilities. The owners were charming and helpful, and made a huge effort to make us feel welcome and comfortable. My husband and I only stayed one night and wished we could have stayed longer. If you’re heading to George Town, you’d be mad to stay anywhere else.

Raj and Maureen (owners) made us feel right at home. They’ve clearly put a lot of thought into the details that make guests comfortable.
