Helen and Terry made us feel so welcome, and Helen can also prepare meals if you want one. She brought little cheese platters when we arrived, which were incredible and just the protein we needed before bed after a tiring day. The rooms were clean, the linens were good quality, the AC worked well, and the kitchen came in handy. Our dogs could stay in the room, which was amazing because they get anxious away from home. An enclosed off-leash area for them would've been handy, but that's a very small miss. My daughter left some jewellery behind. It wasn't valuable, but she was devastated, and Helen found it and posted it to us. We're so thankful. They're really lovely, easy-going people.

We stayed last night, 01.01.26, with our Staffy, Shania, and were honestly surprised by how immaculate the room was for a dog-friendly stay. We were all impressed. My husband said check-in service was excellent, and Helen was lovely. We'd come back in a heartbeat. Thank you. ☺️
We were so glad to find the Bungalow Motel after struggling to find pet-friendly places on our road trips around NSW. The riverside walk across the road was a bonus for taking our dog out, and our room was immaculate and very quiet, with a comfy bed. We ordered one of Helen's Thermomix meals for dinner. The dish we first wanted had sold out, so we picked another, but Helen surprised us by making our original choice after all. Such lovely country service from start to finish. We'll definitely return.
The hospitality is what makes the Gilgandra Bungalow Motel special. Helen and Terry Melbourne gave me a warm welcome and a delicious grazing board, and their easy-going approach really does make you feel like you arrive as a stranger and leave as a friend. My room was impeccably clean and cool, with crisp sheets and a comfy bed. The colourful, quirky outside of the bungalows adds a funky retro touch. There's easy access off the highway, it's dog-friendly, and the windmill walk and visitor information centre are just across the road. It's ideal for a night in transit, though I stayed a few days to explore the region. They also have home-cooked meals, and they were delicious. Looking forward to coming back!
Helen welcomed us warmly when we arrived for three nights with our little dog. Our clean, well-equipped room had a microwave, toaster, electric jug, and a handy little freezer fridge. We tried some of the meals made in-house, with a good range of choices, and enjoyed the desserts too. I also treated myself to a refreshing massage from Helen, who's a qualified therapist. She's a great host, as is Terry, and we'll certainly stay again.
