The kids were all over the play area and didn't want to leave, and we made good use of the BBQ spots and fireplace too. Our room was clean, cosy and comfortable, and the whole park has a warm family-run feel. Joanne was great to deal with throughout. She helped us extend our stay and offered a very generous 50% discount, which we really appreciated. We had a lovely three nights here and would recommend it to families or anyone after a relaxed, welcoming place.

We had a group of 12 and everyone had a bed. The rooms were arranged well, and the place was affordable, clean, and well stocked with sealed blankets, towels and sheets. The motel looked after us, and the receptionist was friendly with the kids and gave them soccer balls to play with. We all enjoyed the night. Compared with our earlier stay at Presidential Motel, Limestone was far better value and much less expensive.

We left after just one night, even though we'd booked and paid $600 for three nights at $200 a night. We were in Mount Gambier for a funeral and are from interstate. Leaving was our choice after finding somewhere better, but the office was closed all Sunday, so we couldn't talk to anyone about our situation and lost $400. The website now shows $133 a night, so I'm not sure why we were charged more. Maybe it was because of the rodeo and sporting weekend, when the dog-friendly places were booked out. Our cabin, No. 5, was at the back of the park, which felt neglected compared with the nice area at the front where people with their own vans stayed. The small patch of lawn hadn't been mowed, there was no yard or other space for our little dog, and there wasn't any outside lighting. We were glad we'd brought a torch for his bedtime walk. The cabin was clean and the bed was comfortable, with an electric blanket, but it felt cold and uninviting. The website made it look much larger and nicer than it was. It was basically four rooms in a square box, with a small porch and a lounge, bedroom, double bunk, couch and TV all crammed into one room. There were no bathroom cupboards or shelves, so our things had to go on the floor. There was no wardrobe either, just a small wall unit with two coat hangers, so we had to live out of our cases and put them on the bunks. The small kitchen was usable, though the crockery and utensils were old and well used. The shower was awful. There was hardly any pressure, the water kept changing between hot and cold, and then it went cold. The hot tap over the sink had no pressure either. We found Pet Friendly Cottages in Worrolong through my sister-in-law, who lives in Mt Gambier. They had a cancellation for two nights, and the place was perfect for us and Monty. It was open and country-like, with a small fenced yard where he could be safe. The property was inviting, the heater was on when we arrived, and it was cosy. There were treats in the house, and the owners, Russell and Pauline, were very friendly. It was definitely dog friendly and nothing like the place we'd first booked. We've travelled a lot over the years, mostly with a dog, and have never before left somewhere we'd booked online. Since we don't travel with a caravan, we rely on websites being accurate. I saw a couple of reviews and wondered if they were talking about the same part of this park. This wasn't a nice place to stay, and I think the ratings for some or all of the cabins at the back should be reviewed.

We had a three-bedroom unit that was just right, and the shower pressure was amazing. Joanne helped us out at short notice and made me feel at ease when I was tense. It was a fantastic stay, and we'll come back if we're in Mt Gambier again.

The ensuite was clean and worked well, and we enjoyed the other facilities too. Joanne and Andrew did a lovely job looking after us. They made sure we were comfortable, accommodated our needs after hours, and went beyond what we expected. Thanks for a great stay!
