The Break, Margaret River Beach Houses

House #17 was very clean and we liked the room design. It’s in a quiet location, with the beach about a 10-minute walk away. There’s an electric BBQ grill on the back porch. The WIFI was very slow and could use improvement. We stayed in July and nights were cold, so having more than two heaters would have been nice.

The place itself was clean and fully equipped. Our picnic chairs were taken from the open garage after the first night, even though the complex was quite occupied. They weren’t worth much, which is why we’d left them there, but it still happened. If you stay, keep an eye on your belongings. I don’t think losing two stars is fair, though, since the theft wasn’t the accommodation’s fault.

It’s quiet, spacious and in a good location, but the house felt tired. The bedside light, window blind and three of the four stove burners didn’t work. Supplies were limited too, with no milk or shampoo. These small things don’t cost much, but make a real difference when there aren’t shops nearby.

The only real downside was how thin the walls are. We could hear everything, especially the neighbours and cars outside. Still, this is one of my favourite places I’ve stayed in WA. It’s close to the beaches and around a 10-15 minute drive into town. The rooms were clean and nice, the kitchen had what we needed, and check-in and checkout were very easy. Local people are always lovely. I’d like to come back.
